Leonie Feuerstack wins ADLER Special Prize for "Surface" at Die Gute Form 2025 Competition

At the Die Gute Form 2025 awards ceremony, held as part of the infa trade fair in Hanover, Leonie Feuerstack was presented with the inaugural ADLER special prize for “Surface”. The competition, which highlights the most outstanding journeyman pieces in carpentry from Northern Germany, saw 39 exceptional works on display, each vying for the prestigious recognition. The event showcased the innovative strength of the woodworking industry, a sentiment expressed by Andree Zoppke, State Guild Master of the Association of Carpenters of Lower Saxony/Bremen (Carpenters North), who praised the craftsmanship on display.

Heico Cuwalsky, ADLER’s Sales Manager for the woodworking industry in Central/Northern Germany, had the honour of presenting the special prize to Feuerstack. Her winning piece, a dressing table, was lauded for its precise lacquer finish, achieved through meticulous multi-stage coating. The jury specifically highlighted the uniform, flawless finish of the surface, noting its remarkable depth and brilliance. The panel stated, “The surface of the dressing table impresses with exceptional homogeneity, depth, and brilliance – a result that is only possible through a deep understanding of material, tool, and process.”

Feuerstack’s piece stood out among the competition for its delicate narrow cabinet forms and the precision required in executing the lacquer finish. The craftsmanship involved in creating such an intricate and flawless surface drew praise from both industry experts and the large audience present. The event, which celebrated the creativity and skill of young carpenters, was met with enthusiasm by more than 150 spectators, who admired the beautiful pieces on display.
