A stunning element in many homes, Arkki interior plywood panel from Koskisen is manufactured from Finnish birch plywood and has a real wood surface. With the imprint of nature, every Arkki interior plywood panel sheet is a one-of-a-kind creation. Arkki adds a cozy, natural feel to any area. With Arkki, one can easily create magnificent wall and ceiling surfaces for both private and public spaces. It is a ready-made interior product. Interior Arkki plywood panels are designed to be used indoors in dry environments.

Coated Arkki, in response to client requests
In the fall of 2024, Koskisen introduced a coated version of Arkki to the market as a consequence of the smooth collaboration between product development and sales. Arkki interior plywood is covered with a transparent, wear-resistant melamine layer and colored with a translucent water-based RAL color. This makes it possible for the panel surface to showcase the wood grain pattern and other inherent qualities stunningly. Similar to KoskiDecor Eco Transparent, the following adaptable basic and special colors are available:
“Ready-to-install Arkki has been a popular product among our customers. The product enables unique results for each object, as your imagination is the only limit when treating the board’s surface. We have heard from our customers that they have varnished and painted the panels themselves or treated them with various wood waxes,” explains Product Manager Eemi Valjakka.
Installing an Arkki panel is simple and quick
Installing Arkki, a tongue-and-groove cut-to-size interior panel, is quick and simple. Additionally, common hand tools can be used to install Arkki interior plywood. The final surface has a strong, eye-catching appearance due to the four-millimeter seam that is left between the boards. There is no need to consider a separate space for movement during installation because the tongue and groove already accommodate the wood’s natural life. Plywood can be stacked vertically or horizontally, with the seams overlapping or aligning.

Plywood stores carbon
Did you know that plywood stores carbon? The carbon in the wood will stay in the board for the duration of its useful life. If the board is disposed of, for instance, by burning or composting, carbon is liberated. Unlike short-cycle wood-based products like paper and cardboard, plywood binds carbon for a much longer time. The overall carbon footprint of Koskisen’s wood products is far higher than their emissions. They released 381,701 tCO2e of carbon in 2023. Koskisen plywood is composed of thin veneers that have been cross-glued. About 93% of plywood is made of wood, and less than 7% is made up of the adhesive mixture’s dry matter.
