Woodwise wood proceurement by Koskisen
Koskisen procures wood mainly from private forest owners in Finland and offers versatile forestry services, while also listening to the needs of forest owners. Koskisen only procures wood from legal and responsible sources and is a reliable buyer of wood that follows the best practices and standards of sustainable forestry in its wood procurement, such as PEFC and FSC certifications. In addition, Koskisen uses a chain-of-custody system in all procurement to ensure that wood material is sourced legally and ethically from reliable and identified sources. The origin of all raw materials is always checked so that the forests in protected areas are safeguarded, and wood is not sourced from controversial sources.
Koskisen uses the majority of the wood it procures in its own operations and sells the rest to third parties, including energy use and the chemical forest industry. The wood is processed in a material-efficient way to deliver high-quality wood products that provide added value in an optimised manner.
