Koskisen invests their trust on Raute

Koskisen, Järvelä, Finland invested their trust in Raute. The Finland-based company Raute received an order for one of their popular choice products – the Raute Veneer Peeling Line R3. The spindleless R3-Series peeling line will be used for peeling the cores after the existing peeling lines all the way down to 30 mm core diameter. What’s more is that this is also the first Raute R3-Series technology sales to Finland.

“Incredibly economical with reduced carbon footprint”

With the investment, Koskisen hopes to maximise the productivity of the veneer production process while enhancing the use of raw materials in their plywood factory. The line will be incorporated into Koskisen’s digital management platform using the Raute MillSIGHTS data collection system. The new line is entirely electric and will operate without a crew.

Kimmo Ahonen, project manager for Koskisen puts his thought on the matter about how the completely automated nature of the new line should make it incredibly economical. What makes the line further efficient is that it has a small carbon footprint because of its energy efficiency, Ahonen adds.

Koskisen already has five Raute-delivered veneer peeling lines, thus Raute’s veneer peeling technology is much well-known to the company. In August 2023, the brand-new line will arrive in Järvelä.

Making the most of small diameter blocks of hardwood and softwood is possible with this 100% electrically powered, spindleless Raute Veneer Peeling Line R3. It peels premium veneer from edge to core. It can also function as a recovery line, increasing the productivity and efficiency of standard lathes. The R3-Series is a product of Raute’s own manufacturing and is of Nordic design. In comparison to traditional spindleless lathes, its optimal peeling geometry (OPG) enables peeling of high-quality veneer with good throughput and an unparalleled thickness tolerance. The line is also efficient for enabling quick and simple production startups with super fast, remote installation potential. Plus, not only is it easy to operate but also has a maintenance result in a high running efficiency.
