
Koelnmesse has announced impressive results for 2024, marking its 100th anniversary with a turnover of approximately €365 million and a profit of around €20 million. The company welcomed more than 2.1 million visitors and 34,500 exhibitors from 106 countries, solidifying its position as a global trade fair leader.
Robust Performance Amid Economic Uncertainty
Despite economic stagnation and geopolitical challenges, Koelnmesse delivered a solid financial performance, slightly under its forecast but maintaining stability. CEO Gerald Böse highlighted the company’s resilience, stating, “Our results demonstrate stability in a challenging market.”
Key Milestones in 2024:
- Sustainability Progress: Installation of photovoltaic systems covering 20,000 sqm and certification under ISO 20121 for event sustainability management.
- New Infrastructure: Opening of the Confex conference and exhibition centre.
- International Expansion: Successful launch of gamescom latam in Brazil and eight new international trade fairs.
- Awards: Named “Company of the Year” for 2024 and 2025 by DEUTSCHLAND TEST and FOCUS MONEY.
Outlook for 2025:
Koelnmesse projects continued growth in 2025, with events like Anuga fully booked and record registrations for FSB, aquanale, IDS, and INTERZUM. Additionally, the debut of idd cologne and imm cologne trade fairs will enhance its presence in the furniture and furnishings sector.
