KOCH Group has successfully completed the Factory Acceptance Test (FAT) for its newly developed Side-Panel Line (SPL) in collaboration with its customer, Woodmont Cabinetry. The milestone marks another important step in the partnership between the two companies as they work toward advancing automated manufacturing solutions for the kitchen cabinet industry.

Representatives from Woodmont Cabinetry recently visited KOCH Group’s production facility to witness the successful FAT of the innovative side-panel processing line before its final delivery and installation. The successful completion of the acceptance test confirms that the system meets the agreed technical specifications, production requirements, and quality standards prior to shipment.

Designed specifically for the efficient processing of kitchen cabinet side panels, the new SPL (Side-Panel Line) has been engineered to enhance production speed, machining accuracy, and manufacturing flexibility. While KOCH Group plans to reveal additional technical details about the machine model in the coming months, the new solution is expected to support cabinet manufacturers seeking higher productivity, consistent quality, and streamlined production workflows.

Factory Acceptance Tests are a critical stage in industrial equipment manufacturing, allowing customers to validate machine performance under real operating conditions before installation. Successful FAT completion minimizes commissioning risks, shortens start-up time, and ensures that equipment performs according to customer expectations from day one.

Founded in Germany, KOCH Group is recognised internationally for designing and manufacturing highly automated machinery and production systems for the woodworking and furniture industries. Its solutions support manufacturers worldwide in applications ranging from drilling, routing, assembly, and panel processing to fully integrated production lines tailored for modern furniture manufacturing.

Woodmont Cabinetry is a North American cabinet manufacturer known for producing high-quality kitchen and bath cabinetry for residential projects. As demand continues to grow for customized cabinetry, manufacturers are increasingly investing in advanced automation technologies that improve production efficiency while maintaining precision, flexibility, and product consistency.

The collaboration between KOCH Group and Woodmont Cabinetry reflects a broader trend within the woodworking and furniture manufacturing industry, where digitalisation, robotics, and intelligent production systems are transforming factory operations. Automated panel processing solutions enable manufacturers to optimise material utilisation, reduce manual intervention, improve repeatability, and respond more efficiently to growing customer demand for customized products.

The newly developed Side-Panel Line represents another example of KOCH Group’s commitment to delivering customer-specific automation solutions that address the evolving needs of furniture manufacturers worldwide. By working closely with customers throughout the design, testing, and commissioning process, the company continues to develop production technologies that enhance operational performance and long-term manufacturing competitiveness.

Following the successful Factory Acceptance Test, the Side-Panel Line will proceed toward installation and commissioning at Woodmont Cabinetry’s production facility. KOCH Group has indicated that further information and technical specifications for the SPL machine model will be released in the near future.

The successful FAT underscores the value of close collaboration between machinery manufacturers and furniture producers, ensuring that innovative production technologies are fully validated before entering commercial operation and helping manufacturers prepare for the next generation of smart, automated cabinet production.
