Keitele Timber Oy, a leading player in Finland’s sawmill industry, continues to boost production efficiency through strategic investments in modern technology. According to CEO Matti Kylävainio, the company’s commitment to improving operations has been supported by the adoption of advanced solutions from Finnos.
Finnos’ Cutting-Edge Solutions for Log and Timber Scanning
Previously, Keitele implemented Finnos Fusion log measurement systems across all three of its sawmills. Now, the company is taking a further step by installing full quality board scanners for the new dry sorting line, while also upgrading existing scanners at the Alajärvi and Kemijärvi mills. Kylävainio cites the technical compatibility of Finnos’ systems with Keitele’s operations as a key reason for the selection. He also notes the success of previous log scanner installations as an influential factor in continuing the partnership.
Boosting Efficiency Through Standardised Processes
Finnos’ technology has not only met Keitele’s operational needs but has also facilitated process standardization across the company’s sawmills. The uniform implementation of Finnos’ measurement systems allows for consistent quality sorting at all three facilities. This, according to Kylävainio, will significantly improve both production efficiency and value yield.
Successful Collaboration Meets Expectations
Although Keitele has primarily used Finnos’ log scanners, the partnership has already proven to be successful. “The scanners have performed well, and despite the challenge of replacing and commissioning them during active production, the process was successfully completed,” Kylävainio said.
He emphasised that the collaboration with Finnos has met all expectations, and Keitele Timber would recommend Finnos as a partner for similar projects in the future.
