The first half of 2024 has been exceptionally successful for WEIMA, largely attributed to the company’s impressive presentations in Orlando, USA, and Munich. For the first time, Kay Schulte, in his new role as Sales Director of the WEIMA Group, took charge of the major trade shows NPE and IFAT. With nearly 20 years of experience at the Ilsfeld-based shredding specialist, Schulte has previously overseen markets in South America and Central Europe.

At the NPE plastics trade show in the US, WEIMA played a pivotal role as the event’s official recycler. Sustainability and recycling were the central themes in Florida, leading to the centralized collection of all residual materials from exhibitors’ product demonstrations. Throughout the week, a fully operational processing line—comprising a WEIMA primary shredder, secondary shredder, and integrated conveyor system—efficiently shredded dozens of tons of material into recyclable flakes.
IFAT 2024 waste fair in Munich
The linguistically adept graduate in business administration, Kay Schulte, who speaks fluent English, Spanish, French, and Portuguese in addition to German, was able to further demonstrate his communication skills a week later in Munich. His debut as CSO at the IFAT was a success. WEIMA was once again able to position itself as a strong, well-connected partner and system supplier for the waste management industry.
The revised condition monitoring tool WE.monitor, presented at IFAT, also reinforced the company’s digital ambitions and pointed to developments towards even more predictive maintenance in the service cosmos.
“We are observing a global trend towards greater sustainability. I am pleased that we at WEIMA can help shape the future technologically. Our machines have always been known for their robust and durable design. They form the basis for the processing or recycling process for thousands of our customers. We want to support them in their tasks in the best possible way.” Kay Schulte, Chief Sales Officer at WEIMA.
WEIMA actively takes part in more than 50 trade shows and conferences each year, and its dealer network is consistently expanding. With close to 80 representatives and sales and service locations across key markets such as Italy, the USA, India, South Korea, China, and Brazil, WEIMA has established a strong global presence. Kay Schulte remains optimistic about the future as the company continues to strengthen its market reach.
