Kallesoe and Timberlab partner to launch advanced CLT facility

November 19, 2024

Kallesoe, a global leader in advanced wood processing technology, has announced a strategic partnership with Timberlab, a prominent U.S. company specializing in sustainable timber solutions. This collaboration will result in the establishment of a cutting-edge Cross-Laminated Timber (CLT) production facility in Millersburg, Oregon, marking a transformative moment for the timber industry.

The partnership combines Kallesoe’s expertise in CLT production technology with Timberlab’s visionary designs and unwavering commitment to sustainability. The facility, set to be one of the largest of its kind in the United States, aims to redefine industry standards for efficiency, quality, and environmental responsibility. Designed for future expansion, the plant is slated for completion by the end of 2026.

“We are thrilled to partner with Timberlab on this exciting venture,” said Kristian Kallesøe, CEO of Kallesoe. “Timberlab’s reputation for innovation aligns perfectly with our mission to advance the use of timber in construction. Together, we are setting a new benchmark in CLT production technology.”

Christopher Evans, President of Timberlab, echoed this sentiment, emphasizing the significance of the collaboration. “Kallesoe’s efficiency in plant design and excellent reputation were key factors in our decision. This facility will allow us to expand our product range and meet the growing demand for environmentally friendly building materials.”

The production line will feature cutting-edge technology from System TM, Kallesoe’s partner and a fellow HOMAG Group company. This includes automated feeding systems, high-speed cross-cut saws, a top-tier finger-jointing system, and Kallesoe’s newly developed radio-frequency curing tunnel, which will harden finger-joined lamellas with unmatched efficiency. Additionally, a radio-frequency CLT press will ensure high capacity and reduced press times, setting new benchmarks in precision and productivity.

This ambitious project aims to revolutionize timber construction by producing world-class CLT panels for sustainable projects worldwide. The collaboration between Kallesoe and Timberlab underscores a shared vision of pushing the boundaries of innovation and sustainability in the timber industry.
