From May 9-12, 2023, interzum will once again present itself to the international trade audience with its claim “Shaping the Change”.
New hall structure
According to Maik Fischer, interzum director, interzum will not only place an emphasis on the trade show as a marketplace, but also as a platform for inspiration, discussions and new ideas to be formed.
With the global keynote theme “Neo-ecology”, interzum will focus in particular on the issues surrounding climate protection and future-oriented planning, because they are crucial for successful innovations in the long term.
Thematically, interzum is divided into the three established product areas: Function and Components, Materials and Nature, and Textile and Machinery.
interzum 2023 will also take a hybrid event approach with interzum @home. The physical presence in Cologne will be supplemented by a digital event, thus creating additional added value.

According to Fischer, ticket entries into interzum 2023 will be in a digital format, unlike physical format like previous editions.
To enter the hall, visitors must download the interzum app to access the digital ticket. Only with the app and the digital ticket will anybody be able to enter the premises.
Special shows at interzum: trendsetting Trend Forums
As part of the neo-ecology social megatrend, the requirements placed on the design of furniture and interiors are also changing.
The Materials & Nature Trend Forum, for example, picks up on innovative materials that may change the production of furniture and interior design over the coming years.
The Trend Forum Textile & Machinery also takes up a current topic: The need to develop mattress production into a circular economy
And the Function & Components Trend Forum is all about showcasing new twists on existing solutions and consciously challenging established practices. In particular, discussions will focus on the question of what we can and must do differently in order to conserve resources.
