The inaugural Saudi Warehousing & Logistics Expo, alongside the co-located Saudi Wood Expo, opened to an enthusiastic reception at the Riyadh International Convention and Exhibition Centre, drawing thousands of visitors on its first day. The event, which brings together the Kingdom’s largest supply chain, warehousing, and logistics showcase alongside the premier wood and woodworking exhibition, was inaugurated by Hassan Alhwaizy, President of the Federation of Saudi Chambers of Commerce.
Speaking at the event, Alhwaizy emphasized the importance of the expos in supporting Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030: “Our participation as a supporting partner in this significant logistics event reflects our commitment to advancing the logistics sector and enhancing its capabilities in line with the objectives of Vision 2030. The exhibition, featuring over 3,500 products and services, highlighted the latest innovations in logistics services and warehousing solutions.”
Muhammed Kazi, Senior Vice President of Construction at dmg events, echoed the excitement: “The bustling aisles on the opening day highlighted the increasing demand for supply chain solutions and unique wood products in Saudi Arabia, underscoring the Kingdom’s ambition to become a leading industrial powerhouse and global logistics hub.”
Cutting-Edge Technologies and Interactive Demos
A key feature of the event was the display of cutting-edge technologies through interactive demonstrations. Tenderd, a fleet management platform, showcased a live demo of their AI-powered safety system designed for logistics and warehousing companies. The system uses advanced AI and real-time monitoring to enforce safety protocols, reduce operational risks, and enhance efficiency, ensuring safer work environments even in challenging conditions.
Almajdouie Logistics, a leading transport and logistics company based in Dammam, unveiled new models of Peugeot Partner and Citroën Berlingo. These vehicles, tailored for transportation and logistics needs, combine advanced technology with efficiency and reliability.
Innovative Wood Solutions on Display
The Saudi Wood Expo also highlighted groundbreaking innovations in the woodworking industry. Fian Group, a Jeddah-based supplier of specialized chemicals and finishing products, demonstrated Mobile Industrial Robots (MiR), which optimize resources, streamline logistics, and support smart living through automation and sustainable solutions.
Another highlight was Desert Board’s launch of Palm Strand Boards (PSB), the world’s first sustainable 3-meter fire-rated door core, made from annually regenerated palm biomass. The product is UL 10C Certified, emphasizing the Expo’s focus on sustainability.
Saudi Logistics Summit Fosters Industry Dialogue
Running alongside the expos, the Saudi Logistics Summit hosted constructive dialogues and sessions led by supply chain experts and industry leaders. In his opening address, Dr. Abdullah Alabdulkarim, CEO of the Saudi Logistics Academy (SLA), highlighted the crucial role of the IKTVA (In-Kingdom Total Value Add) program in expanding the Kingdom’s logistics capabilities and improving Saudi Arabia’s ranking on the World Bank’s Logistics Performance Index.
Ahmed Attia, Group Supply Chain Director at Zahrawi Group, also emphasized the importance of investment in distribution efficiency to drive economic growth and enhance outcomes for the industry.
“The next two days will include Hala Chats, which will focus on raising awareness in the supply chain, warehousing, logistics, and wood industries,” concluded Kazi, hinting at more engaging discussions ahead.
The Saudi Warehousing & Logistics Expo and Saudi Wood Expo continue to serve as key platforms for industry collaboration, showcasing innovative solutions and driving the Kingdom’s logistics and wood industries toward sustainable growth.
