IFMAC WOODMAC-Event 2025

The inaugural editions of interzum jakarta and the International Hardware Fair Indonesia, held alongside the long-standing IFMAC & WOODMAC from 24–27 September 2025 at JIExpo Kemayoran, Jakarta, have marked a new era for the woodworking and furniture industries in Southeast Asia. These three significant events collectively formed the most comprehensive industry platform in the region, offering a complete supply chain experience, covering furniture production, interior design, hardware, woodworking machinery, and components.

Spread over 17,832 sqm of exhibition space, the integrated platform successfully attracted 13,689 trade visitors and hosted 482 exhibitors from 49 countries, showcasing Indonesia’s growing influence as a central hub for design, production, and manufacturing innovation. This strong turnout highlights the promising future of Jakarta as a vital meeting point for industry professionals globally.

A Strong Start for interzum jakarta and International Hardware Fair

The debut of interzum jakarta and the International Hardware Fair Indonesia signals the growing importance of Jakarta and Indonesia as central players in the global furniture and woodworking sectors. Mathias Kuepper, Managing Director & Vice President Asia-Pacific, Koelnmesse Pte Ltd, expressed optimism for the future, stating that the event set a solid foundation for the platforms to grow in the coming years. He noted that in 2026, they aim to welcome even more international companies, national pavilions, and collaborators, reflecting the growing market potential in Southeast Asia.

Rini Sumardi, Director of Wakeni, emphasized the importance of this collaboration, which combined the strong reputation of IFMAC & WOODMAC with the fresh perspectives of interzum jakarta and the International Hardware Fair Indonesia. This collaboration created an end-to-end platform that brought together every part of the supply chain under one roof.

Re:Create Stage – A Hub for Innovation and Knowledge Sharing

The Re:Create Stage emerged as one of the event’s key highlights, attracting strong attendance throughout the three-day programme. The stage featured engaging sessions that explored important industry themes, such as circular materials, multifunctional design, and alternative material ecosystems. Notable sessions included “Designing Multifunctional Furniture: Challenges and Solutions” by Karina L Cheung and Yudhistira A.P. Harahap, and “Matter-Reality: Alternative Material Ecosystem in Indonesia,” presented by industry experts including Alia Sarastita and Arka Irfani.

The Re:Create Stage was appreciated by visitors for its practical insights and valuable knowledge that could be directly applied to ongoing projects. Many attendees found the discussions a meaningful complement to the exhibition floor, making it one of the most valuable aspects of the event.

Indonesia: A Growing Market for Woodworking and Furniture

Exhibitors reflected positively on the opportunities Jakarta provides as a dynamic and emerging market. Indonesia’s rapidly growing urbanisation and robust furniture sector were highlighted as major factors driving the demand for innovative production technologies. International companies, particularly those from Europe, recognised the strategic value of Indonesia as a future hub for their products. Lamello AG’s Philipp Senft emphasized that interzum jakarta offered a valuable platform to connect with buyers and industry professionals across Southeast Asia.

Aaron Boo, Managing Director of Phyta Asia, shared that Indonesia has been a strong market for their software, and attending interzum jakarta allowed them to meet potential customers and industry partners. The event facilitated important business opportunities and collaborations within the sector.

International Hardware Fair: Bridging Local and Global Networks

From the hardware side, International Hardware Fair Indonesia enabled exhibitors to connect with both local distributors and international buyers. Torben Kloska, Sales Manager of Brockhaus HEUER, noted that the event perfectly aligned with the company’s target market, providing a seamless connection between local and global industry professionals.

Jakarta’s Role as Southeast Asia’s Key Hub

With interzum jakarta and the International Hardware Fair Indonesia now making their debut alongside IFMAC & WOODMAC, Jakarta has firmly positioned itself as the central meeting point for the woodworking, furniture, design, and hardware industries in Southeast Asia. The three events will return in 2026 from 23–26 September, continuing to offer an integrated platform where global trends, new technologies, and sustainable practices converge to shape the industries of tomorrow.
