IFMAC reschedules 2020 edition

 Tuesday, June 2, 2020

2020’s one of the most important trade fairs for woodworking machines in Southeast Asia has been rescheduled to October. In view of current developments with regard to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Indonesian trade fair company Wakeni (PT. Wahana Kemalaniaga Makmur) and Deutsche Messe (based in Hannover, Germany) have decided to postpone IFMAC to October 14 to 17, 2020.

By postponing the event (originally planned for September 23 to 26), the organizers are giving it a bit of extra time for a further easing of the restrictions currently in place. Indonesia’s furniture industry is not only internationally significant, but also plays an important role in the growth of the country’s woodworking industry as a whole. However, Indonesia’s manufacturing base is suffering greatly from the consequences of the ongoing crisis, and Indonesian furniture companies are in need of new plant and machinery so their products can keep pace with rising demands in terms of quality.

“IFMAC is this year’s most important trade fair for woodworking machinery in Southeast Asia. By postponing it until October, we are opening up the possibility for the event to benefit from a possible easing of the prevailing restrictions, giving exhibitors and visitors more certainty for their plans as well as a bit more time to prepare for the show,” explained Christian Pfeiffer, Global Director LIGNA & Woodworking Shows at Deutsche Messe. “Together with Wakeni, we will definitely do everything we can to provide the best possible showcase for state-of-the-art woodworking technology – naturally in line with all applicable distance and hygiene rules and measures.” Mr. Pfeiffer concluded.
