HOMAG experiences strong performance

 Monday, November 8, 2021

HOMAG is heading for a record year as the high demand at the HOMAG Group continued in the third quarter of 2021. Incoming orders have increased once again breaking all previous records and the company was able to more than triple its operating result compared to the previous year.

Compared to the first nine months of 2020, the HOMAG Group’s incoming orders increased by 82 percent to EUR 1,390 million (previous year: EUR 763 million). “The last year was of course still heavily influenced by the corona pandemic,” explains CEO Ralf W. Dieter. “The clear order record after the first three quarters shows how high the current demand for our solutions is.” Sales rose by 22 percent to EUR 1,017 million (previous year: EUR 833 million) and the order backlog reached September 30th A record level of EUR 1,008 million in 2021 (September 30, 2020: EUR 461 million). The HOMAG Group was able to more than triple its operating EBIT to EUR 66.7 million (previous year: EUR 20.8 million).

“The order intake has developed very positively both for individual machines and increasingly also in the system business with large systems,” said Dieter. “This can be seen in all regions worldwide, with the highest growth rates in China and in Europe with a strong German market.” At HOMAG, the significantly increased service revenue is attributed, among other things, to the fact that many customers produce with high capacity utilization and need more spare parts.

The material supply, especially with electronic components, is also difficult at the HOMAG Group. “The global supply chain problems also make themselves felt in us again and again with selective bottlenecks,” emphasizes Ralf W. Dieter. “Our global purchasing teams are working flat out here to ensure the shortest possible delivery times for our customers.”

In the Solid Wood segment, in which the HOMAG Group has bundled its business with production systems for timber house construction, the company received its largest order to date in the third quarter.
