The 2024 China International Furniture Machinery & Woodworking Machinery Fair (WMF 2024) has officially begun at the National Exhibition and Convention Center in Shanghai. The event, running in tandem with the China International Furniture Fair (Shanghai) and the Shanghai International Upholstery Technology Exhibition, brings together three major industry shows, offering an all-encompassing view of the latest advancements in woodworking and home furnishing technologies.
This year’s WMF 2024, themed “Synergizing Sustainable Innovation,” features over 385 exhibitors from 11 countries across 50,000 square meters. The event is expected to attract more than 30,000 industry professionals over four days. Showcasing innovations from countries like Austria, Germany, China, and the United States, the fair emphasizes the integration of cutting-edge machinery, smart home solutions, and advanced materials.
The exhibition provides a critical platform for industry leaders and stakeholders to explore innovations, form new partnerships, and address the growing demand for smart production solutions. Exhibitors include prominent names like HOMAG CHINA, BIESSE, WEINIG, and SIEMPELKAMP, all presenting flagship products focused on furniture production, soft furniture manufacturing, cutting tools, and engineered wood technology.
In addition to the exhibition, several key events highlight industry trends and innovations. The “2024 China Home Furnishing New Media Innovation Conference” tackled new market strategies, while the “Super Factory 2024” session will explore digitalization and productivity in panel furniture manufacturing. A special focus on sustainable materials like wood-plastic composites offers insight into eco-friendly production methods.
The opening day featured the highly anticipated “2024 China Home Furnishing New Media Innovation Conference,” which successfully addressed emerging market strategies focusing on light customization. Industry leaders and experts shared valuable insights on navigating new market dynamics.
The day concluded with the prestigious WMF Synergy Awards Ceremony, which recognized outstanding collaborations within the industry and celebrated the innovative partnerships driving progress in the woodworking and furniture manufacturing sectors.
The second day featured the “Super Factory 2024: Innovation and Productivity in Panel Furniture Manufacturing”, which will explore advancements in digitalization and customization. Additionally, a special session on wood-plastic composites will showcase sustainable materials and production methods.
With a diverse representation of delegations from regions such as Malaysia, Thailand, Russia, and South Korea, WMF 2024 serves as a pivotal international platform for trade and innovation in furniture production. The event runs until September 14, 2024, at the Shanghai Hongqiao venue.
