Future of carpentry surprised visitors at LIGNA 2019

 Wednesday, June 26, 2019

Now, it’s almost a month, yet the experience of Hannover fair is still fresh and vivid. Visitors at LIGNA, this year were awestruck by the future of carpentry displayed at the fair in the Campus Crafts workshop and by innovator Stefan Kraik.

Stefan Kraik is not only a master carpenter but also a problem solver. Together with his seven employees, he works on doors, furniture and room concepts in Erkelenz in North Rhine-Westphalia and also fulfills very special wishes.

In order to optimise the processes in his company, Stefan Kraik decided to digitise some of the work processes. He introduces software for calculation, cutting optimisation, CNC and a drafting program. A very nice change. But especially the young fellow, the new concept is very accommodating. Over computers and iPads they have now always and everywhere the overview.

At Campus Crafts, the final workshop of the digitisation took place at the campus crafts. Exciting topics were appreciated by the participants. Among other things, Jonas Winkler gives an insight into the carpenter from the point of view of a future carpenter.
