Fresh-Swan appearance in Flooring Timbers

 Saturday, August 6, 2016

domotexWe all love wood because it’s a natural and highly versatile material. There are, of course, many ways of altering the appearance of timber floors. They can be stained, brushed, oiled or smoked.

And every treatment creates a different and highly distinct look. The latest addition to a broad pallet of finishes is all about celebrating authenticity – about flooring timbers that feature the sorts of all-natural splits, knots and grain structures that give wood its unique character.

The latest surface treatments protect flooring timbers to the highest standards, while at the same time retaining their natural, “fresh-sawn” appearance.

Handcrafted solid timber floor boards are imbued with the structure and color of driftwood or the appearance of a past life in an ancient distillery. New dimensional formats are also creating a stir. For instance, the different-sized “Formpark Mini” parquet tiles by Germany’s Bauwerk Parkett have opened up a world of new options in parquet laying patterns. The same is true of the rounded interlocking rod-shaped tiles of Italian company Margaritelli.
