Focus on Finishing Process – LIGNA 2017

 Thursday, December 29, 2016

LIGNA 2015, 11. - 15. MaiLIGNA, the world’s leading trade fair for machinery, plant and tools for the woodworking and timber processing industry, is gearing up for its 2017 season (May 22 to 26) with a new, more visitor-centric display area.

Halls 11, 12, 13, 14/15 and 27 focus on finishing processes as well as secondary processing operations. In terms of display area, this is LIGNA’s biggest display category. Thematically it is also one of the fair’s most expansive display categories, given its coverage of the full range of processing technologies for a wide range of materials, from solid wood, panel products and plastics through to composite materials.

Up until 2015, LIGNA featured solid wood and panel product processing technologies in different display areas. It also distinguished between machines for the skilled trades and industrial-scale companies. These distinctions are set to disappear in the future as scale no longer determines the type of technology used and machinery manufacturers increasingly supply processing systems that can handle both solid wood and wood-based panel products.

The visitor target groups include joiners and cabinetmakers; carpenters; panel furniture manufacturers; laminate flooring companies; manufacturers of solid wood products, such as furniture, window frames, laminated timber and parquet flooring; and processors of plastics and composite materials.

As the world’s leading trade fair for the wood processing industry and true to its reputation as an accurate mirror of the latest trends, LIGNA will return in 2017 with a revamped structure that reflects these developments.
