Firefly, one of the internationally recognised fire protection companies, is happy to welcome their new colleagues: Clémence Baud, Alexander Jonasson and Mathias Häll to Firefly — bringing fresh energy, diverse experience, and new perspectives to the company.
Clemence Baud:
“Before joining Firefly, I worked as an environmental consultant in the real estate and construction sector. I ensured the energy efficiency of buildings and conducted life cycle analyses to evaluate the carbon footprints of materials. I recently joined Firefly as a Technical Project Leader in the France, Benelux, and Africa division. I am responsible for creating technical documentation and providing customer support throughout projects until commissioning. In my spare time, I enjoy playing Ultimate Frisbee and Bouldering. I’m also interested in trying a wide variety of arts and crafts.”
Alexander Jonasson:
“I have worked as a Senior System/Sales Engineer in the telecom and semiconductor industries for companies in the US, including Ericsson and Cisco Systems, among others. Later in my career, I managed my own businesses in service, sales, and electronic warfare. I will be working as an Area Sales Manager for North America within the Firefly sales organization. My responsibilities include assisting and supporting distributors in the US, as well as handling direct sales. I swim a couple of kilometers most days and love to take long walks in nature.”

Mathias Häll:
“I have spent my entire career in various roles within the After Sales field, ranging from hands-on work as a Service Technician to being responsible for the commercial development of the aftermarket. Over the course of my 25+ years of experience, I have worked for both large corporations and smaller companies. I currently lead the central After Sales and Service Support team. My responsibilities include managing fieldwork such as commissioning and service/maintenance at customer sites, handling returns (RMA), overseeing spare parts and service contract sales, and providing technical support. In my free time, I enjoy spending time with family and friends, taking care of the house, and staying physically active.”
The company has been helping industrial operations protect their processes from costly damage and downtime due to fires and dust explosions since 1973.
Automatic fire suppression system
Firefly’s systems react rapidly. Dangerous particles in a process flow can be detected and extinguished within milliseconds, before a fire or a dust explosion builds. Their detectors can find hot particles before they even start to glow. Firefly’s Quick Suppression System detects and extinguishes flames in open areas and around machinery, at the earliest stage of an outbreak.
All components in the systems are optimized for rapid reaction, stopping fire and sources of ignition from developing. Prioritizing rapid reaction in all component parts is what makes Firefly’s systems the fastest in the market.
Fire protection for the woodworking industry
In a furniture manufacturing plant, wood dust and oxygen is always present. In case of a mechanical failure in a machine or a fan the wood dust can easily be ignited, resulting a fire or worst case a dust explosion. Firefly’s preventive and protective solutions for the woodworking industry help detect the first signs of ignition and suppress fire at an early stage, avoiding costly downtime and damage to machinery.
Wood dust – High risk, low ignition
The ignition temperature of a layer of wood dust is around 260 degrees C and in dust clouds, it is around 470 degrees C. Bearing in mind that hot particle below 650°C are not perceived by the human eye to be glowing, this is just seen as a “black” particle.
Firefly’s solutions for the woodworking industry help detect the first signs of ignition and suppress fire at an early stage, avoiding costly downtime and damage to machinery. Our solutions are suitable for many different applications within the woodworking sector.
Firefly is a one stop solution for all the fire hazards!
