Fantoni, the investment programme of Osoppo-based firm, continues its investment plans strategically. Improvements are made to the panel production facilities as well as to the prestigious office division’s efficiency. The company just finished a nine million euro overhaul of its furniture plant, rethinking the entire workflow of the production process. The ambitious project called for the use of all the most recent technological advancements in order to increase production, rationality, and product quality while lowering energy costs.
Streamlining operations and improving internal workflows
The company will reorganise the entire layout of the furniture factory, streamlining operations and improving internal workflows with the help of sophisticated logistical operations, remarked the division manager Dr. Alessandro Pacasso. Fantoni also integrated their departments with automated transport and vertical warehouses and introduced technologies that allowed them to achieve a noticeable improvement in the aesthetic perception of the factory.
According to Pacasso, both the pre-assembled product line and the one that produces unassembled furniture at Fantoni are now highly automated, with all information incorporated in a “4.0 mindset.” Integrating with nearby finishing lines improves logistical processes, but more crucially, it taps into the know-how of sister firm Lacon to produce surfaces that amplify the expressive power of the materials with a distinctive visual and tactile language. He finds that these investments have already had significant returns. “Production capacity has increased by 15%, all the while reducing energy consumption.”
By adopting zero-miles production and safeguarding environmental sustainability, the historic office division complements the state-of-the-art facilities of the panel division, establishing the Fantoni campus in Osoppo a centre of distinction in the Italian wood and furniture supply chain.
