Elixrr Industries Pvt. Ltd., a leading Indian manufacturer of eco-friendly nonwoven fabrics, is expanding into the Medium-Density Fiberboard (MDF) sector with a major investment in advanced refining technology from international technology group ANDRITZ. The company has placed an order for a state-of-the-art pressurized refining system to be installed at its mill in Madhya Pradesh, with start-up scheduled for the first quarter of 2026.

The new system is designed to process 35 tons per hour of eucalyptus, poplar, and mixed wood, featuring key components such as the S1056 refiner powered by 5,500 kW and the innovative C-Feeder — the first of its kind to be supplied to India. This marks Elixrr’s strategic entry into the MDF market, expanding its footprint beyond nonwovens manufacturing.

Raman Poddar, President – MDF at Elixrr, emphasized the company’s confidence in ANDRITZ’s expertise: “We chose ANDRITZ because of their proven refining system technology. This partnership supports our commitment to sustainability and innovation, helping us establish a strong position in the Indian MDF sector.” Project Manager Aniket Mishra added that working with ANDRITZ provides the assurance needed for this new venture.

Elixrr’s move aligns with the company’s focus on sustainability and Industry 4.0 automation, leveraging advanced technology to optimize production efficiency and environmental responsibility. For ANDRITZ, this order marks the tenth MDF refining system delivered in India, reinforcing its leadership in the country’s growing woodworking industry.

ANDRITZ Group, headquartered in Austria and with over 30,000 employees globally, is a leading provider of innovative industrial solutions across pulp and paper, metals, hydropower, and environmental sectors. The company is committed to enabling sustainable growth and digital transformation in manufacturing processes worldwide.
