The International Trade Fair of Machines, Tools, and Components for the Wood and Furniture Industries (DREMA) celebrates its 40th anniversary this year. The event is scheduled to take place from September 10-13, 2024, at the Poznań International Fair. This milestone edition is expected to attract several thousand specialists from the wood and furniture industries, who will have the opportunity to explore the latest machines and technologies for woodworking and furniture production.
Polish Championship Debut at DREMA
To mark this special anniversary, DREMA will host the inaugural Polish Championship in the Father & Son “Next Generation” format, a unique event that aims to highlight the importance of family ties in business. This competition will feature father-son duos who will showcase their skills in parquetry, demonstrating the blend of traditional craftsmanship with modern techniques and materials. The championship will span two days, during which participants will lay and finish a parquet design, judged on both the quality of their work and their ability to collaborate effectively.
Parquetry Consultations and Live Restoration
In addition to the championship, DREMA will feature a Parquet Days zone, where visitors can receive expert advice from the Parkieciarze Group, a collective of top professionals in the field. This group, which has been active since 2016, will be on hand to offer guidance on installing and renovating wooden floors.
Another highlight of the fair will be a live restoration project, where a team of professional renovators, led by Mariusz Płoński in collaboration with Narzędzioholicy.pl, will restore an antique dressing table to its former glory. This piece comes from a nearly 100-year-old villa in Warsaw’s Ochota district, a historical gem with a rich architectural and cultural heritage.
