SCM is set to unveil its cutting-edge timber processing solutions at the upcoming DACH+HOLZ International 2026 trade fair, taking place in Cologne from February 24-27, 2026. The event, held in Hall 7 (stand 324), will showcase the latest innovations designed to help the timber construction industry improve efficiency and precision across a wide range of applications, from structural beams to CLT (Cross Laminated Timber) walls and floor elements.
As the timber industry continues to evolve towards smarter, more sustainable practices, SCM’s goal is to offer advanced technologies that empower carpenters and manufacturers to work faster, smarter, and with greater precision. Among the star attractions at the SCM stand is the Oikos XS 650, a new 5-axis CNC machining centre that exemplifies the company’s commitment to “smart” timber processing.
The Oikos XS 650 is a game-changer for timber construction, engineered for beams with cross-sections ranging from 40×20 mm to 650×310 mm. This versatile machine features a telescopic support system for precise machining and a full-stroke clamp, ensuring the highest productivity and finish quality. The Oikos XS 650 can process all six faces of a beam in a single pass, eliminating the need to rotate the workpiece, which maximizes efficiency.
Designed for structural beams, CLT walls, floors, and roofs, the Oikos XS 650’s compact footprint allows it to deliver high performance in any workspace. The machine is equipped with Maestro Lab Beam&Wall, a powerful programming software compatible with the most widely-used CAD systems in the timber construction sector. With Maestro Active Beam&Wall, users can program directly at the machine or from the office, providing flexibility and operational efficiency.
Additionally, the Oikos XS 650 is integrated with SCM’s IoT platform, enabling real-time performance monitoring and enhancing overall productivity. This smart solution is not just a CNC machining centre – it’s a complete, connected system designed for the modern timber industry.
Another innovative solution making its debut at DACH+HOLZ 2026 is the Area GL, a modular CNC machine for processing straight and curved glulam elements. Ideal for public buildings, multi-storey structures, and infrastructure projects, the Area GL is equipped with a mobile-gantry structure that allows for precise machining without repositioning the workpiece. With a work area that spans up to 5 meters wide and 50 meters long, it is capable of machining all six faces of glulam elements using suction supports for thicknesses up to 550 mm.
What sets the Area GL apart is its modular configuration, offering options for both fixed and movable worktables, ensuring maximum production flexibility. It also features a 30 kW machining head, guaranteeing high performance and precision. Whether it’s for large architectural projects or smaller bespoke structures, the Area GL is a smart solution that meets the evolving demands of timber construction.
For high-volume production needs, the Oikos X+ CNC machining centre is the perfect solution. Designed specifically for solid wood and glulam beams, this machine handles beams with cross-sections up to 1,250×300 mm, making it ideal for large residential buildings, roofs, and public structures. With a 6-axis machining unit, automatic tool changes, and a 5-axis sawblade for better productivity, the Oikos X+ ensures that even the most complex cuts, such as deep notches, are performed with precision.
SCM is also unveiling two key innovations aimed at optimizing CLT panel production: the Celaschi XL and DMC System XL. The Celaschi XL double-end profiling machine is specifically designed for the rebating and squaring of CLT walls, offering unmatched productivity and precision. Equipped with four 44 kW electrospindles, it delivers powerful performance even on high-density elements.
Meanwhile, the DMC System XL is an automatic calibrating-sanding machine for CLT panels, capable of processing panels up to 3,700 mm wide and 500 mm thick. Its solid steel structure ensures zero vibration, guaranteeing superior surface finishes and extended machine lifespan.
SCM’s participation in DACH+HOLZ International 2026 is a significant moment for the timber construction industry, offering a glimpse into the future of smart timber processing. With solutions like the Oikos XS 650, Area GL, Oikos X+, Celaschi XL, and DMC System XL, SCM continues to lead the way in providing the industry with smarter, more efficient, and more versatile machinery to meet the growing demands of modern timber construction.
Visitors to the SCM stand at Hall 7, stand 324 will be able to explore these innovative solutions firsthand, discovering how they can revolutionize their own operations and contribute to a smarter, more sustainable timber industry.
