Launch of Deutsche Messe’s private 5 G Campus license: The Hannover Exhibition Grounds have received the official certificate from the German Federal Network Agency for the frequency allocation of the private 5G network.
“We are very pleased with our first private 5-G campus license,” says Dr. Jochen Köckler, Chairman of the Board of Management of Deutsche Messe. “Especially in times of Corona, this is an important signal that stands for future, for progress, for new technologies and for the willingness to invest. With our license we offer our customers the full 100 megahertz (MHz) bandwidth for their diverse application scenarios and different showcases”. Jochen added further.
Deutsche Messe plans to have the exhibition grounds 5-G-ready by the end of the year. Step one includes the necessary cables for all 25 halls, so that afterwards wireless communication is possible from the installed 5-G antennas to all devices in the exhibition halls. The first professional applications could be realized, for example, in the field of automated driving or facial recognition in the entrances.
