As Cworkshop continues to expand its operations, the North London-based woodworking company has ramped up its manufacturing capabilities with the acquisition of advanced HOMAG machinery. The investment, including four HOMAG SAWTEQ S-300 panel saws, two EDGETEQ S-380 edge banders, and two XES 200 glue pot pre-heating stations, marks a significant step forward in supporting the company’s growth trajectory.
Supporting Small Businesses with Big Capabilities
Cworkshop, founded in 2010 by two skilled cabinet makers, has steadily grown into a trusted manufacturing partner for small to medium-sized furniture and interior businesses. Known for its precision and reliability, the company specializes in providing cutting, drilling, CNC, and edge banding services. With many of their customers being small enterprises lacking the space, workforce, or capital to invest in high-powered machinery, Cworkshop offers an invaluable service by fulfilling their clients’ manufacturing needs quickly and to a high standard.
“Our customers often work with limited space and resources, particularly in London where both real estate and labor costs are high,” explains Antony Didjurgis, Founding Partner at Cworkshop. “By providing access to top-tier machinery, we enable them to achieve results they wouldn’t otherwise be able to.”
The Need for New Machinery Amid Rapid Growth
As Cworkshop’s operations grew, so did the demand for more advanced machinery. The company opened new branches to keep up with its increasing client base, and the new locations required efficient, reliable equipment to meet the high standards of service.
“We knew we needed to fill our new premises with advanced machinery, specifically four beam saws and two edgebanders with glue pot pre-heating stations,” explains Antony. “We didn’t rush into a decision. We conducted a market check, but when we compared the options, HOMAG was clearly the best choice.”
Having used HOMAG equipment for over a decade, including their oldest beam saw, which continues to function flawlessly after 11 years, Cworkshop trusted HOMAG’s reputation for quality and durability.
The Sweet Spot of Automation
One of the key factors that made HOMAG the ideal supplier was the balance it offers between automation and manual operation. Antony explains, “When it comes to machinery, I look for a balance—too much automation, and the operator can lose focus; too little, and fatigue and errors set in. HOMAG offers a sweet spot that allows our team to remain engaged while ensuring precision and speed.”
To further understand how HOMAG’s equipment could benefit the company, Antony and his team visited HOMAG’s Castle Donington showroom, where they were given an in-depth demonstration of various machine configurations by Sales Manager Ian Woodall. The flexibility and intuitive interfaces of HOMAG’s machinery made the decision-making process straightforward.
Improved Workflow and Product Quality
Since integrating the new HOMAG machinery into their operations, Cworkshop has witnessed a significant improvement in workflow efficiency and product quality. Antony highlights, “The interface across all our HOMAG machines is seamless, which simplifies operation and enhances productivity. The ability to easily integrate different machines into our workflow has saved us considerable time and reduced operational headaches.”
The machinery’s precision is another standout feature. “The accuracy is exceptional,” says Antony. “Operators can adjust settings with incredible precision, ensuring flawless results. Even though a lot of the process is automated, skilled operators can still achieve top-quality outcomes.”
An interesting feature of this recent investment is the decision to opt for smaller edge banders. “Edge banders are typically getting larger and more expensive, but HOMAG’s S-380 offers the same functionality as the bigger machines at a lower cost. It’s versatile, compact, and produces the same high-quality finish,” Antony explains.
A Long-Standing Partnership with HOMAG
Cworkshop’s continued partnership with HOMAG reflects the trust and satisfaction the company has in their equipment and service. Antony notes, “We have a solid working relationship with the HOMAG team. They’re always professional and ready to assist, especially during installations where things can get tricky. Simon Beasley, who organized these recent installations, was fantastic from start to finish.”
This strong partnership is a key reason why Cworkshop continues to turn to HOMAG for its machinery needs. The company’s growth shows no signs of slowing, and as they plan for the future, they’re already considering additional HOMAG machines to continue their upward trajectory.
Looking to the Future
With Cworkshop’s expansion well underway, the company remains committed to furthering its growth through ongoing investment in cutting-edge technology. Antony concludes, “This latest investment was a critical part of our expansion strategy, and it’s enabled us to maintain the high standard of service we promise our clients. As we look to the future, HOMAG will remain our first choice for machinery.”
