Combilift acquires second Red Dot Design Award

 Wednesday, July 22, 2020

Combilift has bagged the Red Dot Design Award for the second time and impressed the industry with their extraordinary achievement.

The company was among the winners of the 2020 Red Dot Design Award for its recently launched Combi-CBE8 model, the world’s first compact counterbalance design electric powered multi-directional forklift with its patented traction on all wheels.

The “Red Dot” distinction is now established internationally as one of the most sought-after seals of quality for good design, and as one of the world’s largest product competitions, these awards attract submissions from more than 50 countries every year. This is the 2nd Red Dot Award that Combilift has received; it was a winner in 2014 with the Combi-WR4 multi-directional pedestrian operated reach stacker.

Judges stated the “compact, multi-directional forklift truck is characterized by its extraordinary maneuverability and high traction as well as emission-free operation.”

In addition to the social distancing measures that Combilift adopted early in May, Combilift had put in further measures. These included: keeping most doors in the plant permanently open, but those that cannot remain permanently open are fitted with copper on all the door panels, which significantly reduces the time that a virus can be harboured on the surface compared to stainless steel. Employees are issued with face masks and supervisors’ safety vests feature the 2m warning. Combilift has adapted security fobs for clocking in to replace the manual keying of numbers and employees are thermally-scanned as they enter the building to check for a raised temperature.
