Together with the Welte GmbH, Bürkle has carried out trials with the easy-Coater Ultrafoil in their Technology Center. The focus was on topcoat coating of Alu-Dibond panels with the aim of achieving a scratch-resistant and durable surface seal for digital prints.

The Ultrafoil process enables extremely precise and even application and ensures a very high surface quality. Particularly impressive: matte or high-gloss surfaces can be achieved simply by changing the foil, without the need for costly conversion processes. The process is compact, efficient, and highly versatile, making it ideal for applications in the graphic industry as well as for all areas where high-quality and durable surfaces are required.

Such practical trials demonstrate the importance of direct exchange and real test scenarios in developing optimal solutions for individual requirements.

“Many thanks to the company Welte for the collaborative partnership and the valuable technical dialogue!” – Bürkle.

Bürkle already presented this innovation at the last LIGNA. This is a new generation of UV surface finishing system that impresses with maximum flexibility, compact design, and high process reliability. This innovative compact system was specifically developed for demanding modern surface finishes (super matte, soft touch, or high gloss) without the use of excimer technology or costly nitrogen.

The core of the system is the ultrafoil process: A simply primed surface is coated with a UV lacquer layer, which is then cured under a special transfer film using UV radiation. The key advantage: The selected film determines the final surface properties. This allows both ultra-matte and high-gloss surfaces to be achieved on the same system in a very short time. A simple film change is all it takes to create completely different effects.

Process reliable and cost-efficient

The easy-Coater ultrafoil enables the production of high-quality surfaces with exceptional durability, previously only achievable through complex processes such as electron beam curing. This eliminates the complex structure of traditional high-gloss systems, resulting in a clear advantage in terms of efficiency, cost, and ease of use.

With its exceptionally small footprint and reduced process steps, the system is ideally suited for companies with limited space or for those entering the UV surface finishing market. Its high flexibility also makes it perfect for changing design and quality requirements in furniture and interior design, doors, panels, and other applications.
