After careful examination, Blumer Lehmann chose LEDINEK as the main supplier, also making impression by its experience from 22 CLT systems and numerous GLT systems. LEDINEK offers an extensive product portfolio, including a sorting line, defect cutting, lamella storage, lamella planer, edge gluing for single-layer panels, and automated GLT production.
Blumer Lehmann is launching a new combined mass timber production facility and expanding its product range to include CLT (cross-laminated timber) and glulam (glue-laminated timber) semi-finished products. The new glulam production line is set to commence operations in September 2025, with the initial production of cross-laminated timber slated for June 2026. The automation of CLT solid wood panel production will enhance the efficiency of manufacturing floor and ceiling elements.
The facility is fully automated, enabling the production of standard GLT (glue-laminated timber), CLT (cross-laminated timber), and specialized CLT. Additionally, Ledinek provides handling mechanisation for both the surface sanding machine and CNC processing.
As a premier timber construction firm, Blumer Lehmann leverages the full potential of timber, driving advancements in timber engineering on a global scale. The company employs over 450 individuals at its headquarters in Gossau, St. Gallen, as well as in various locations across Switzerland, Germany, and Luxembourg. These employees are engaged in diverse customer projects worldwide, showcasing their expertise and innovation in timber construction.
Blumer Lehmann transforms timber, a natural raw material, into innovative products, services, and structures within a sustainable value creation cycle. Each year, the company’s sawing, planing, and finger-jointing facilities process 170,000 m³ of Swiss logs into a wide variety of sawn timber products for the construction industry. Residual timber is repurposed into animal litter, carbon-neutral pellets, and used as an energy source for their own power plant.
Blumer Lehmann utilises timber construction methods to develop, plan, produce, and deliver new builds, including Free Form projects in partnership with renowned architectural firms. They also handle conversions with additional storeys and renovations. Additionally, the company designs and produces modular timber structures that provide affordable residential space and maximum flexibility, even in limited spaces. Blumer Lehmann further specialises in the development and manufacture of silos and facilities for road and winter maintenance across Europe, featuring automation and modern conveyor technology.
