A monumental turning point in sustainable engineering is being celebrated by the European wood flooring industry. The Muuuz International Awards (MIAW) in France have named Bjelin as the 2025 Innovation Winner. The Woodura Planks 3.0 collection, a product line that has expanded the boundaries of natural aesthetics and industrial-grade durability, is the focus of this award.
Organised by the prominent French trend-spotting platform Muuuz, in collaboration with the architectural publication D’A magazine, the MIAW awards are a benchmark for excellence. Each year, an expert jury evaluates the most disruptive products in architecture and interior design, selecting only those that push the limits of form and function.
The jury’s decision to honour Woodura Planks 3.0 was rooted in the product’s holistic approach to performance. In their official citation, the panel lauded the Woodura® technology, noting its ability to produce a surface three times more resistant than traditional hardwood while significantly reducing the carbon footprint by optimising raw material usage.
What sets Woodura Planks 3.0 apart in a crowded market is the synergy of three core technologies developed by Bjelin’s sister company, Välinge Innovation:
“A warm thank you to the Muuuz team for this recognition,” stated David Sarcinella, Managing Director of Bjelin France & Western Europe. “This award reinforces our commitment to supporting architects and designers in creating spaces that are more sustainable and more inspiring.”
For industry professionals, the Woodura Planks 3.0 represents a “no-compromise” solution. It offers the warmth and prestige of Slavonian oak with the dent resistance required for high-traffic commercial zones, such as hotels, retail flagship stores, and modern office complexes.
