International technology group ANDRITZ has announced that it will supply a new high-capacity chemi-mechanical pulp production line to Zhanjiang China Paper Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of Guangdong Guanhao High-Tech Co., Ltd., located in Guangdong Province, China. This strategic move aims to address the company’s existing gap in chemi-mechanical pulp supply and eliminate its reliance on market pulp.
Zhao Guohong, Deputy General Manager of Guangdong Guanhao and Chief Project Director at Zhanjiang China Paper, emphasized the significance of the project, stating, “Our dependence on market chemi-mechanical pulp has imposed certain limitations on our high-end white cardboard production. The new line from ANDRITZ will empower us to produce our own pulp, reducing raw material risks and enhancing competitiveness.”

The P-RC APMP (Pre-Conditioning Refiner Chemical Alkaline Peroxide Mechanical Pulp) line, with an impressive annual capacity of 400,000 tons, is designed to produce premium pulp for high-quality white cardboard. ANDRITZ will provide the entire production line, which includes systems for wood chip washing, impregnation, high-consistency refining, bleaching, washing, low-consistency refining, screening, and rejects treatment. Additionally, the company will oversee installation supervision, commissioning, start-up, and training.
This advanced production line is engineered to combine high-quality pulp output with minimal energy consumption and reduced environmental impact. Key equipment includes the PrimeMSD Impressafiner for optimal wood chip maceration and chemical impregnation, the TX68 HC refiner for maintaining stable pulp quality, Compact Press units for superior washing efficiency post-bleaching, PrimeScreen X screens for energy-efficient screening, and two PrimeFilter D disc filters for advanced thickening and fiber recovery.
Guangdong Guanhao High-Tech Co., Ltd., the parent company of Zhanjiang China Paper Co., Ltd., is a leading manufacturer in China’s paper industry, known for producing white cardboard, carbonless copy paper, thermal paper, and other specialty papers. This project further strengthens the long-standing relationship between ANDRITZ and China Paper Investment Co., Ltd., the parent company of Guangdong Guanhao. The partnership, which began in 1995, has seen ANDRITZ supply seven chemi-mechanical pulp lines to China Paper subsidiaries, consistently focusing on high-quality production with a low environmental footprint.
This new project is expected to set a new standard in the industry, reinforcing the strong cooperation between the two companies.
