ADLER to unveil three Innovative Window Coatings at Fensterbau Frontale 2026

From 24 to 27 March 2026, Nuremberg will once again become the focal point of the international window and façade sector. At Fensterbau Frontale 2026, ADLER, one of Europe’s leading paint manufacturers, will introduce three new coating systems developed specifically for window manufacturers. The company regards the exhibition as a key platform to present forward-looking technologies designed to simplify processes and enhance product quality.

Extensive development work has been carried out. New solutions have been created. According to ADLER, each innovation addresses practical challenges faced by modern window producers.

The first of the three systems is described as a genuine all-rounder. Internally referred to as a top performer – or more precisely, the “Primo” – this primer has been engineered to transform the possibilities of timber selection. It functions like a chameleon. Simple materials can be made to appear refined. Premium aesthetics can be achieved more cost-effectively.

The primer opens up entirely new options in wood choice. Window manufacturers may benefit from greater flexibility in sourcing. Richard Mölk, Head of the Window Industry and Industrial Timber Construction division at ADLER, has indicated that further technical details will be disclosed during the exhibition. However, he has stated that the system is expected to be very well received within the sector. The development is positioned as a future-oriented solution.

Efficiency forms the core of the second innovation. ADLER’s Tyrolean development teams have introduced what is described as an intermediate coating with substantial performance gains. This “second assignment” is intended to deliver improved adaptability and enhanced surface quality within production workflows.

Significant process improvements are promised. In particular, advantages are expected for three sensitive types of wood. While detailed specifications will be presented at the stand, the system has been developed to optimise coating sequences and improve consistency. Greater flexibility can be achieved. Quality standards can be raised.

The third innovation focuses on tactile and visual appeal. End customers increasingly expect natural windows to offer a velvety, wax-like and warm surface character. ADLER’s response is a soft-feel finish based on oil-water technology. The formulation has been designed to provide a high-quality, highly transparent and homogeneous appearance.

A natural look is preserved. Surface warmth is enhanced. Transparency remains consistent across the component. This finish addresses the demand for authenticity in timber window design while maintaining industrial reliability.

All three systems will be showcased at Stand 5-143 in Hall 5. Visitors will encounter what ADLER describes as a “Hammer trio”, alongside additional surface solutions from its portfolio. The company aims to surprise the market with practical innovations rather than incremental updates.

The coatings have been engineered specifically for professional window manufacturers. Application processes have been considered carefully. Industrial suitability has been prioritised. The solutions are expected to support productivity without compromising finish quality.

Fensterbau Frontale provides an international meeting point for the window, door and façade construction community. For ADLER, the exhibition represents an opportunity to reinforce its long-standing relationships within the industry. New contacts are also anticipated. Market feedback will be gathered directly from manufacturers and decision-makers.

ADLER operates with approximately 730 employees. It is recognised as Austria’s leading producer of paints, varnishes and wood preservatives. The company was founded in 1934 by Johann Berghofer and remains family-owned. It is currently managed in its third generation by Andrea Berghofer.

Each year, more than 20,000 tonnes of coatings leave the production facility in Schwaz, Tyrol. Products are exported to customers in over 30 countries. Sales subsidiaries are maintained in Germany, Italy, Poland, the Netherlands, Switzerland, the Czech Republic and Slovakia. Production is concentrated exclusively at the Schwaz site.

Innovation is regarded as a strategic pillar. Sustainability is equally central to corporate direction. Continuous reduction of the company’s CO2 footprint has been pursued. Product development is guided by circular economy principles. Long-term partnerships have been established, including cooperation with the Karwendel Nature Park.

Environmental responsibility is integrated into operations. Regional roots remain strong. International growth continues steadily.

At Fensterbau Frontale 2026, attention will focus firmly on the three new coating systems. Each has been designed to respond to evolving technical and aesthetic expectations within the window sector. Performance has been enhanced. Flexibility has been expanded. Surface quality has been refined.

Which of the three innovations will resonate most strongly with manufacturers remains to be seen. Interest is expected to be high. The final verdict will be delivered by the market itself.
