Wood & Panel is delighted to have a face to face conversation with Luca Gallo, Area Manager from CMA Robotics. Our editor-in-chief, Apratim Ghoshal, Wood & Panel, speaks with Mr. Gallo on their participation at Xylexpo and more. Over the years, CMA Robotics has developed advanced painting robots for many sectors, so also for the wood industry, gaining the trust of customers, the best innovative solutions on the market have been designed. Excerpts.
How is Xylexpo? Is it good for you?
Luca Gallo: Yes, absolutely. We have a good response from our customers.
Can you explain your main product you are exhibiting here?
Luca Gallo: We are manufacturing spraying robot since 30 years and we just made the 30th anniversary. We are specialised to be only in the spraying market. We do have a lot of different robots to offer and we are offering to our customers since a decade. Not only the robot, but the complete solution, we offer a lot including programming modalities with scanning system or this technology that we introduce here which is called VR Tracking and which is let’s say safe teaching programming in a new version in a complete new edition.
How big is your Italian market and beside Italy which are the important market in Europe for you?
Luca Gallo: We must say that our presence in the Italian market is very stronger because in 30 years we have managed to have a very good position that comes with experience. But also in Europe we are a fast growing company even we are small compared to our competitors like AB or Fanuc which are obviously very large companies. So, our speciality is not to offer again simple robot but a complete tailor-made solution for our customers.
What about US market?
Luca Gallo: US market is a very important market for us and we are already selling our products since a few years with very good results in the local market with a local US company placed in Jaspa, Indiana and for the woodworking since we have a very exclusive solution let’s say we have a very strong presence in the market. We have even participated at IWF in August where we introduced all the latest technologies of CMA.
How is 2024 for you and can you predict the beginning of 2025?
Luca Gallo: The start was very impressive. Really, we had very good results. Obviously, not all the markets are responding in the same way and same time by fortune because otherwise we would not be able to perform and to follow up every customer. Again we are a small company of 50 people so we are very happy about the response so far. Again, we are very happy about the response since we are manufacturing tailor made solutions. It’s very important for us that if a customer gets his desired solution after finishing our job and we are happy to see that the customer is happy. If we do a multiple projects but at the end of the day our customers are not satisfied, that is not our philosophy. So, it’s better to keep calm and do good job.
