LIGNA 2023 will once again host the German Timber Construction Award. For the 10th time the award ceremony that happens in every two years will be celebrated during LIGNA, the largest event of the woodworking and manufacturing industry. German Timber Construction Award is considered as one of the most important awards for buildings made of wood in Germany.
Environmental friendliness and resource-saving aspects shall be elevated
Under the patronage of the Federal Ministry of Housing, Urban Development and Construction, Holzbau Deutschland – Bund Deutscher Zimmermeister (Association of German Master Carpenters) is offering the German Timber Construction Award 2023. The prerequisites for the competition include that the buildings submitted should be of attractive design quality. At the same time, the environmental friendly and resource-saving aspects in terms of sustainability and climate protection must as well be taken into account. The competition is expected to be held in the categories of new buildings and innovative planning and building concepts. Projects submitted will be evaluated by an independent judiciary and the competition is accessible to structural engineers, builders, and enterprises that design, develop, and/or produce buildings or building systems. It is also open to architects and structural engineers. For the category Components / Concepts, individuals, working groups, institutions from research, development, and teaching, as well as businesses and organisations, may also submit projects.
LIGNA spotlights a wealth of exhibits from around the world, the trade show features a large number of special showcases for all areas of the wood processing and woodworking industries. Holzbau Deutschland will be presenting an exhibition of the award-winning at the show.
