Building on its long experience with oscillating screens for particleboard production, DIEFFENBACHER has developed the new HCOS High-Capacity Oscillating Screen for more throughput with less investment. Visitors to LIGNA 2019 were the first to see the new screen.
The HCOS is developed specifically for producing high volumes. It’s available in three sizes with the largest version enabling throughput of 260 m³/h. The HCOS High-Capacity Oscillating Screen can be equipped with the new Mechanical Inclination Change (MIC) feature. By adjusting the screen’s inclination from 8° to 6° or 10°, material flow can be decreased or increased. This makes capacities of up to 325 m³/h possible.
With lightweight frames made of edged laser-cut profiles and enclosure panels and doors made of light sandwich panels with high stiffness, the HCOS weighs just 60% of comparable screens. The lightweight construction ensures a long frame life and enables hanging installation of the screen, eliminating the need for dedicated foundation blocks.
Meeting ATEX safety standards, the HCOS is ready for indoor installation. All new HCOS High-Capacity Oscillating Screens feature Integrated Flameless Explosion Relief (IFER). In the event of a particle explosion in one of the four screen decks, the IFER ensures flameless pressure relief. All neighboring decks are perfectly protected from explosion hazard.
The HCOS is configured for four or five fractions. The screen nets for the different fractions are self-cleaning and quickly changeable for minimum maintenance.
Apart from installations in new plants, the screen can also easily be integrated into existing plant structures as a retrofit due to industry-standard distances between the infeed and outfeed axes. The steel structure can simply be placed on foundation plates. Existing foundation blocks can remain in their old position and do not have to be dismantled.
