Zimmer Group, a global leader in automation technology, proudly announces the opening of its advanced production facility in Jintan, located within the Sino-German (Changzhou) Innovation Industry Park (SGIP). This state-of-the-art plant represents a significant milestone in Zimmer Group’s international expansion and highlights the company’s dedication to serving the rapidly growing Chinese market.
Spanning an impressive 26,640 m², the facility’s initial construction phase encompasses a modern building area of 9,911 m². Jintan, often celebrated as the “blessed land south of the Yangtze River,” stands out as one of the most dynamic and promising urban areas in Changzhou. With a strategic focus on “industrial and project powerhouse” development, Jintan has become a hub for innovation and growth, continuously bolstering its “five new industries”: new energy, new infrastructure, new energy vehicles, new medicine, and new intelligence.
The establishment of Zimmer Group’s new site in this vibrant region underscores the company’s commitment to fostering local industry and contributing to Jintan’s vision of economic progress and technological advancement.
Achim Gauss, Managing Director of Zimmer Group, emphasized the importance of the new production facility in his opening speech: “The Jintan location not only offers us economic advantages, but also the opportunity to network with other German companies and local educational institutions. With this strategic decision, we are strengthening our ability to respond quickly to customer requests and deliver high-quality products from local production.”
The Group has been active in China since 2009 and has continuously expanded in recent years as part of a rolling 5-year strategy. The new location in Jintan strengthens Zimmer Group’s presence in China and forms the basis for further growth and innovation. In addition, the region offers a broad university landscape in the field of mechanical engineering as well as a German-speaking school that supports the sustainable personnel growth in China.
Zimmer Group is thus continuing the continuous expansion of its portfolio and the development of new capacities as the core of its international expansion strategy. The new facility will offer customized solutions and automation technology that meet Zimmer Group’s high standards. The opening is an important step in meeting local market needs with native language service and locally produced products.
