With the introduction of the MR250 Double Arbor Multirip, Wood-Mizer, a global leader in sawmilling and woodworking equipment, is setting a new standard in industrial timber processing. Designed to meet the demands of high-volume sawmills, the MR250 combines precision, automation, and efficiency to optimise production lines.
Features
The MR250 is engineered to handle materials up to 650 mm wide and 250 mm thick, accommodating up to 32 circular blades (16 per shaft). This configuration allows for high throughput and minimal waste, making it ideal for processing 3- and 2-sided cants. A detachable side fence and integrated laser sight system ensure precise alignment, while optional laser lines further enhance accuracy.
Equipped with 2-meter extendable infeed and outfeed tables, the MR250 features eight driven feed rollers—six at the bottom and two at the top—supported by proximity sensors that detect material presence, ensuring uninterrupted operation. Safety mechanisms, including anti-kickback fingers and a limit bar with a safety shut-off switch, are integrated to protect operators.
A standout feature of the MR250 is its fully electric adjustment system. Both the arbors and the press roller head are regulated automatically via Setworks or manually using a dedicated mini control panel. This system ensures that the head presses down and the arbors center themselves according to the cant thickness, all in a single operation.

The MR250 utilises blades with diameters ranging from 300 to 400 mm, and customers can select spacers to achieve the desired cutting width according to their production goals. Each arbor is powered by an independent electric motor, with available configurations ranging from 22 kW to 55 kW, depending on the required production capacity. The main motor powers the chipper, while a separate 1.5 kW motor drives the feeding system. All material waste is efficiently managed by an integrated wood chipper, which transfers chips to dust extraction chutes placed underneath and on the sides of the machine. This feature ensures a clean working environment and facilitates the collection of valuable by-products.
An ergonomic remote operator panel provides easy access to all essential controls, including emergency stop, feed direction, speed adjustment, and blade positioning. An optional Setworks display enhances precision and repeatability during operation, contributing to overall productivity.
The introduction of the MR250 Double Arbor Multirip marks a significant advancement in industrial sawmilling technology. With its combination of precision cutting, automation, and efficient waste management, the MR250 is poised to enhance productivity and profitability in sawmills across Europe. Wood-Mizer continues to lead the way in providing innovative solutions that meet the evolving needs of the woodworking industry.
