Vauth-Sagel CORNERSTONE MAXX and VS ENVI Toolbox win design awards

 Wednesday, March 28, 2018

vauth sagel logoCORNERSTONE MAXX, the unique corner cabinet system from Vauth-Sagel, has been awarded the globally renowned seal “German Design Award 2018” – and is thus representative of the high-standard “Made in Germany” design quality. In addition, the long-established company is happy about further awards: The VS ENVI Toolbox received the internationally highly esteemed iF Design Award as well as the Iconic Award 2018: Innovative Interior.

The three awards stand for the virtues that Vauth-Sagel has pursued without compromise since its founding in 1962: the development of high-quality system solutions in which German engineering meets internationally sought-after design. CEO Claus Sagel says, “We are very happy about the two awards. They confirm that in addition to the functionality that opens up living spaces and makes everyday life easier, we also attach great importance to the design.”

CORNERSTONE MAXX as an international design ambassador

In autumn 2017, CORNERSTONE MAXX was nominated for the German Design Award 2018, one of the most internationally renowned design awards. The award is presented by the German Design Council, which links the award with a clear mission: The award winners are suitable and predestined to represent German design affairs internationally. CORNERSTONE MAXX is awarded to a product that has already been successfully established in the market with its sophisticated design. The corner cabinet solution brings out the entire content while moving out of the trays, without obstructing the neighboring body. With its floating shelves with wide, stable surfaces, CORNERSTONE MAXX stands for exclusive design inside the kitchen cabinet.

VS ENVI Toolbox convinces two expert juries

An extremely flexible storage system has received several awards: The VS ENVI Toolbox is an organizational element made of high-quality plastic that can be placed on the storage systems of Vauth-Sagel. The user can adjust the individual elements as needed and thus gets a customized box that can be perfectly adapted to his needs again and again. With this smart solution Vauth-Sagel convinced two expert juries: iF Industrie Forum Design awarded the product the internationally recognized iF Award Design Award 2018. And the Iconic Award 2018: Innovative Interior went to the VS ENVI Toolbox. From 500 submissions, an independent jury of experts selected a cooperation between Naber and Vauth-Sagel, in which the contribution of Vauth-Sagel consisted of the utensil box.

Both products already nominated for further awards

The success story of the two products is already entering the next chapter: both CORNERSTONE MAXX and the VS ENVI Toolbox have already been nominated for further awards. In the case of the Toolbox, it is the German Innovation Award, which is also awarded by the German Design Council. In turn, CORNERSTONE MAXX is selected for the UNIVERSAL DESIGN Competition 2018. This award recognizes products that are “broad, simple and intuitive to use and use across generations” while avoiding a “stigmatizing design”.

Claus Sagel remarks, “The nomination for the UNIVERSAL DESIGN Competition recognizes an important aspect of our work. We always look at design and functionality from the point of view of universal use.”
