Area President for EMEA (Europe, Middle East, and Africa) at Valmet, Vesa Simola, has made the decision to pursue a career outside the organisation. Up until his replacement is selected, Vesa Simola will continue to serve as a productive member of Valmet’s Executive Team and serve as the region’s leader.

“Vesa Simola has led the business of the EMEA Area creditably since 2015. The Area is our company’s largest market, and under Vesa’s leadership, our operations have developed well in many respects. I thank Vesa for his contribution during these years as a member of our Executive Team and for his commitment to continue in the position until his successor is found. At the same time, I wish Vesa all the best in the next phase of his career,” says President and CEO Pasi Laine.

Vesa Simola has a wealth of worldwide experience from her time spent working for major paper manufacturers. Additionally, he has extensive experience in general management, including supply chain, R&D, production, and sales. He has a proven track record of improving company outcomes and customer relationships across the globe. He has also made major organisational improvements, such as simplifying and restructuring processes.

For the pulp, paper, and energy industries, Valmet is a prominent global innovator and provider of process technologies, automation, and services. We offer an even broader range of process industry services with the help of our automation systems and flow control solutions. Our 17,500 employees work in close proximity to our clients and are dedicated to improving their performance each and every day.

The business has a more than 220-year history in the industry and a proven track record of renewal and improvement. A significant accomplishment was made in 2022 with the merger of Neles, a flow control business, with Valmet. In 2022, Valmet’s net sales were expected to be at EUR 5.1 billion. The headquarters of Valmet are in Espoo, Finland, and its shares are traded on the Nasdaq Helsinki.
