Valmet and Opal have decided to maintain their long-term partnership for mill maintenance services at Opal’s B9 board producing line in Sydney, New South Wales, Australia. The two brands will be extending their Mill Maintenance Operations Agreement. In 2012, the Valmet-supplied B9 went into operation. After the start-up, Valmet took on the duty of establishing maintenance operations, site maintenance services, and particular performance optimization initiatives. Both the companies have intended not to reveal the agreement’s value.

Botany Mill has been working with the brand for more than ten years, according to Robert Carry, General Manager of Operations. Progressive and ongoing advances in areas like manufacturing efficiency and cost cutting have produced real results over this time. They expressed their excitement to keep working with Valmet to make sure the B9 plant sets the standard for the industry in every way, he added.

“Valmet maintenance and Opal production teams at B9 have been able to capture the true meaning of production assets’ lifecycle management. Successful collaboration on site supported by global Valmet experts creates a strong foundation for reliable operations. The new recently launched digital tool, Valmet Mobile Maintenance application, and maintenance assessments support the further development of the mill maintenance,” says Timo Harjunpää, Director, Maintenance Outsourcing, Services, Valmet.

Technical details on the delivery

The company is in charge of ensuring the site’s dependability through planning, driving, managing, developing, and carrying out maintenance. Valmet will also introduce fresh approaches to boost the effectiveness and precision of routine maintenance.
