UPM Raflatac, a global leader in innovative and sustainable self-adhesive paper and film products, has announced the opening of a new 30,000-square-foot distribution terminal in Ajax, Ontario, within the Greater Toronto Area. This facility enhances service for Eastern Canadian customers and strengthens the company’s North American operations, complementing its network of three factories and two other terminals across the region.
“Our new terminal in Toronto marks a pivotal step in enhancing our service to Eastern Canada. This expansion supports customer success while driving sustainable solutions, reinforcing our commitment to the industry. I want to thank our Implementation Team for achieving this milestone and express appreciation for the Toronto team’s focus and excitement as they navigate the ongoing ramp-up period,” stated Alex Ramirez, Director Fulfillment, UPM Raflatac Americas.
In line with UPM Raflatac’s commitment to delivering high-quality materials and service across the Americas, the new Toronto terminal is outfitted with state-of-the-art slitting and material handling technology. Featuring a robust inventory ready for slitting and shipping, the facility enhances customer flexibility, order customisation, and overall efficiency. By expanding its terminal network, UPM Raflatac reduces the risks of supply chain disruptions and ensures sufficient warehousing capacity. Initial customer shipments from the facility began on October 2nd, with production expected to scale up through the remainder of 2024.
In addition to the North American production network, UPM Raflatac operates terminals and offices in Santiago, Chile; Buenos Aires, Argentina; Mexico City, Mexico; and Guadalajara, Mexico, to service customers in Central and South America.
