The heart of craftsmanship beats in Nuremberg at HOLZ-HANDWERK 2026

From March 24th to 27th, 2026, Nuremberg will once again become the central hub for Europe’s woodworking professionals. The HOLZ-HANDWERK trade fair is set to take place in conjunction with FENSTERBAU FRONTALE. This major event serves as a meeting place for joiners, carpenters, cabinetmakers, and woodworking industry professionals. It is a celebration of both innovation and tradition, where visitors can explore the latest in woodworking technology while experiencing hands-on demonstrations of machinery and products.

HOLZ-HANDWERK 2026 promises to be more than just an exhibition. It is a place where dialogue, networking, and collaboration take centre stage. The trade fair will showcase advancements in woodworking, offering an invaluable opportunity for professionals to discover new technologies, materials, and solutions. The event is expected to be larger than the 2024 edition, reflecting the growing interest and importance of the fair within the woodworking sector.

A Strong Showing of Industry Support

Stefan Dittrich, the Exhibition Director of HOLZ-HANDWERK, highlighted the growing registration for the 2026 edition, signalling strong industry demand. “The exhibition will grow in size compared to 2024. This is a clear indication of the relevance and increasing interest in the event,” Dittrich said. The fair is seen as essential for fostering collaboration and addressing the industry’s challenges in times of change.

Dr. Bernhard Dirr, Managing Director of the VDMA Woodworking Machinery Association, also emphasised the importance of HOLZ-HANDWERK. “The fair is indispensable for the industry. It illustrates how modern technologies and intelligent automation can empower the woodworking trade,” Dr. Dirr remarked. The event will play a critical role in promoting dialogue between manufacturers and end-users, facilitating the exchange of knowledge and solutions.

Supporting Programmes and Industry Insights

A variety of supporting events will complement the main exhibition. The HOLZ-HANDWERK Arena will host the ‘Meister – Erfahrungsbericht’ (Master Craftsman Experience Report) panel. This session invites craftsmen to engage in discussions on their expectations, experiences, and future perspectives. Additionally, the Best Practice presentations will offer insights from carpenters, showcasing their successful projects and implemented solutions.

The trade fair will also delve into the digital future of the woodworking industry. Leading software providers will present their tools and strategies to help businesses adapt to the digital transformation. For professionals keen to understand the impact of digitalisation, this section will offer valuable insights into the evolving tools shaping the trade.

In Hall 11, the HOLZ-HANDWERK Campus will showcase a range of technical colleges presenting their curricula. The aim is to attract young talent to the woodworking and carpentry professions. There will also be a special exhibition hosted by the Bavarian Association of Cabinetmakers (FSH) in collaboration with the VDMA and NürnbergMesse. This year’s material show promises to offer fresh inspiration for innovative designs in the woodworking sector.

Exploring the Future of Door Solutions

One of the key highlights of HOLZ-HANDWERK 2026 is the ‘Focus Interior Doors’ programme. This event is organised in cooperation with FENSTERBAU FRONTALE and the BM trade journal. Leading manufacturers and suppliers will demonstrate how the aesthetics, functionality, and innovation of modern door solutions can be harmonised. Visitors will also have the opportunity to take part in guided tours, which will direct them to the relevant exhibitors showcasing the latest door technologies.

Sustainability and Innovation at the Forefront

Sustainability continues to be a central theme within the woodworking industry. Guided tours led by Rosenheim Technical University will focus on topics such as energy efficiency, extraction technology, and sustainable materials. These tours will provide practical insights into the latest innovations in energy-efficient machines, tools, and fittings technology. Furthermore, the high-performance hand tools and aids section will present cutting-edge equipment aimed at enhancing the craftsmanship of woodworking professionals.

What to Expect at the Trade Fair

The trade fair will open its doors daily at 10 a.m. and will run until March 27th, 2026. Visitors can explore a wide array of exhibitors presenting the latest woodworking technologies and solutions.
