One material for every room – or too good to be true?
In complex building projects, versatility often meets its limits. But what if one board could serve across all types of spaces – reliably, safely, and without compromise? SWISS KRONO OSB is engineered to do just that.
From home offices to kindergartens, from kitchens to large-scale developments. Their OSB/3 and OSB/4 boards are built to perform wherever they’re needed – Perfect for wood and modular construction.
Why you should choose SWISS KRONO OSB:
Product variations:
Which panel thickness is suitable for what?
Basically, the following applies: The larger and stronger the individual boards, the higher the resilience and load-bearing capacity.
OSB is divided into technical classes 1 to 4 according to DIN EN 300. Classes 1 and 2 are not used in modern wood construction. SWISS KRONO produces OSB boards from class 3 onwards, which are used as load-bearing boards for dry and wet areas.
OSB/3 and OSB/4 are used for load-bearing purposes. While thin boards are sufficient for wall cladding, the best possible board thickness is selected for the structural construction in accordance with its tensile strength.
If OSB is also expected to contribute to thermal and heat protection, the thicker the board, the higher the insulating properties. OSB has the same insulating properties as solid wood, but offers a better storage mass due to its higher density.
When choosing a suitable OSB board, the various quality gradations or technical classes are also important. This is because they indicate the area of application for which the respective board can be used or how much static load it can bear.
Whether you’re working on residential interiors or institutional builds – choosing the right material is where long-term quality begins!
