Unilin Technologies has announced that Swiss Krono Group, a leading global manufacturer of laminate flooring, will implement the Unidrop locking system across multiple manufacturing facilities worldwide. This strategic decision aligns with Swiss Krono’s commitment to enhancing sustainability and consumer-focused innovation in its laminate and hybrid resilient flooring products.
The Unidrop system, developed by Unilin and available for licensing, was selected for its superior performance in locking and installation. Crucially, it eliminates the need for plastic inserts, a feature that has gained importance in the drive toward more sustainable product solutions.
“Following extensive testing, we determined that Unidrop offers best-in-class strength and ease of installation,” stated Tim Neitzel, Director of Product Development at Swiss Krono USA. “By integrating Unidrop across our laminate and hybrid-resilient flooring lines in Europe and the U.S., we are reinforcing our dedication to sustainable practices and innovative flooring solutions.”
Robert Schneider, General Manager of Sales and Marketing at Swiss Krono’s Heiligengrabe facility, emphasised the company’s focus on customer needs: “We are expanding our range of water-resistant flooring to meet consumer demand for durable, waterproof, and easy-to-install floors. The Unidrop system not only supports our sustainability goals but also enhances customer satisfaction.”

Unidrop is a fold-down, glueless locking system that offers superior locking performance without requiring plastic inserts.
