In July of 2025, the system will be fully pre-commissioned at Springer’s headquarters in Friesach, and the tested system will be delivered to the customer location (in the south of Austria) by the end of 2025. The Springer team is now in full production of the machines for the customer.
For the completely automated and integrated sorting of green and dry sawn timber with robots, the system will be outfitted with a Robotic Sorting Line. Approximately 15,000 cubic meters of logs are cut by the system each shift and year (30.000 in two shifts). It uses less than 500 kWh of power (!). Logs up to 100 cm in diameter can be processed by the Sawbox. Spruce, pine, and larch are the three primary varieties of processed wood. The dry sorting module has top-notch board scanners, a contemporary cross-cut saw, and moisture measuring equipment.
The CFO/CDO at SPRINGER Maschinenfabrik GmbHManuel Sei, says, “We are grateful to our wonderful partners for making this innovation possible.” This leading-edge sawmill requires only 1.500 square meters, has robots, and can be managed by a single operator.
