The Siempelkamp Group has announced the appointment of Jan Bender as the new head of marketing and corporate communications, effective from August 1st. With extensive expertise in the machine and plant engineering sector, Bender brings over two decades of industry experience to his new role.
Bender’s responsibilities at Siempelkamp will encompass the strategic direction of brand management, global marketing, and corporate communications. Reporting directly to Martin Scherrer, CEO of the Siempelkamp Group, Bender’s role is pivotal in shaping the company’s market presence and communication strategies.
Bender’s career began in 1998 after graduating in industrial engineering with a specialization in mechanical engineering. His professional journey started with ThyssenKrupp Stainless GmbH, where he held various management positions in strategic marketing, e-business, and sales coordination. In 2008, he was appointed Senior Vice President Marketing & Regional Management at VDM Metals GmbH. This was followed by roles as Head of Marketing EMEA at LANXESS Performance Materials GmbH and most recently at Envalior Deutschland GmbH.
“I am excited to take on the responsibility for the Siempelkamp Group’s diverse communication and marketing tasks and to develop strategies and campaigns for all target groups,” stated Bender.
The Siempelkamp Group anticipates that Bender’s extensive experience and innovative approach will significantly contribute to the company’s growth and global outreach.
The Siempelkamp Group, a technology provider for machinery and equipment, casting, and nuclear technology, maintains an international footprint. As a system supplier, they offer press lines and complete plants for the wood-based panel industry, metal forming, as well as the composites and rubber industries. At their Krefeld location, Siempelkamp operates one of the world’s largest hand-molding foundries, producing large cast parts with a total unit weight of up to 320 tons.
The company also provides transport and storage containers for radioactive waste and specializes in the dismantling of nuclear plants. The wood-based panel industry is one of Siempelkamp’s central markets and core competencies. They cover the entire production process for wood-based panels, from round log and raw material handling to storage and handling solutions for the finished panels, incorporating new approaches in machine learning.
