SICAM 2024_15th edition

The 15th edition of SICAM 2024, the international event of Components, Accessories, and Materials for the Furniture Industry, has opened yesterday, Tuesday, October 15, and will run until Friday, October 18. Over four days, the event will host a vibrant exchange of meetings, ideas, innovative solutions, and cutting-edge design. This year’s theme, “Where technology meets design,” is more relevant than ever, as the exhibition presents tens of thousands of proposals that will soon shape the furnishings showcased at upcoming industry fairs, in shops, showrooms, and ultimately in homes worldwide.

‘The choice of October was a winning one, because, as confirmed to us by many, it is the best time for companies in the furniture sector to propose their novelties, show consolidated productions but above all new ideas that architects, designers, technicians and innovation managers of companies in the furniture world are always looking for,’ commented Carlo Giobbi, founder of the exhibition who at the last edition “passed the hand” to his children Carolina and Michele Giobbi, while continuing to pass on his experience in organisation and management. Carlo added further.

‘Crossing the milestone of fifteen editions is an important acknowledgement of the companies we work for, of all those exhibitors and visitors whose needs we try to interpret – and if possible anticipate -, responding with a trade fair that does not only look at numbers, but also at the quality of content, relationships and their effectiveness,’ he concluded.

The 2024 edition show pattern and strategies were demonstrated by the numbers of the edition inaugurated yesterday, which has welcomed just under 700 exhibitors, 31% of whom came from abroad, with Germany, Turkey, Austria and Spain at the top of the list. The Italian contingent is decidedly significant, with around 500 exhibitors arriving from Lombardy (31 per cent of national exhibitors), Veneto (25 per cent), Marche and Friuli-Venezia Giulia, both with a share of 12 per cent.

This event once again reinforced the successful ‘SICAM model’, a proven format that has played a key role in the international exhibition’s ongoing success. As an annual gathering, SICAM draws exhibitors and visitors from around the world into an elegant, comfortable, and efficient environment, designed to keep the spotlight firmly on the products. It’s a turnkey fair, where exhibitors and visitors can focus entirely on their business, while all other aspects—from parking and catalogues to catering and hospitality—are seamlessly handled by the organisers as part of the comprehensive service.

The most awaiting 2024 edition

This year, SICAM will be the largest edition ever: in addition to the temporary spaces, which for some years now have allowed many companies to exhibit at SICAM, there are also the extensions to hall 5 built in 2023 and the spaces that have been added to hall 8 this year.

“We have worked in agreement with Fiera di Pordenone in order to have as much exhibition space as possible, reaching the 20,000 net square metres that are undoubtedly one of the reasons for our greatest satisfaction on this important birthday.” added Michele Giobbi, technical manager of the event.

“A result that we have sought with strength and commitment, in order to be able to accommodate at least some of the companies that are on the waiting list: In all these years we have always done our utmost to try to accommodate all those who have asked to be with us, but the choice of being able to guarantee a ‘human scale’ exhibition, which is easy to visit and which allows you to see everything and everyone has always pushed us to maintain this dimension and not to be tempted by other solutions, convinced that it is absolutely one of the values that have made SICAM what it is today”.

And it is with this in mind that the important investment in a redesigned stands’ design has been made in order to allow exhibitors to have a greater height – 2.5 metres – than traditionally, a measure more in keeping with the presentation of a whole series of products that will be exhibited at SICAM.
Set-ups that, as is well known, are reused every year, guaranteeing the vast majority of exhibitors a much-appreciated opportunity that undoubtedly has an important value on the sustainability front: ‘A theme to which even trade fair organisers are called upon to pay the utmost attention,’ added Carolina Giobbi, head of marketing and communications: ‘SICAM has always adopted behaviours that minimise the impact of our activities. A direction on which we are working intensively and which will lead to important innovations in the next editions.

SICAM 2024 edition

A showcase for innovation

Creativity, technique, quality, and design will once again take center stage at the 15th edition of SICAM. Visitors from around the globe (with 8,912 companies attending in 2023, 32% of which were international) will have the opportunity to experience firsthand the thousands of solutions presented by exhibitors. This allows them to not only find the right answers to their needs but also to quickly and effectively map out the trends that will shape the next major furniture exhibitions.

“On the other hand, this is the task of a successful trade fair: to be a showcase for innovation and at the same time an extremely concrete place, where ‘doing business’ is the priority of the vast majority of the operators present, without ever forgetting that we are talking about events where one can understand, verify, compare, communicate and – why not? – amaze, declining in the best possible way the meeting between technique and design, between industry and planning, between quality and creativity.” concluded Carolina Giobbi.

The world of SICAM

Once again for this edition, SICAM has pursued twelve months of commitments, appointments, promotional events in all the trade fairs of the world where the subject of components, technology or furnishing is discussed. This is an activity that not only keeps the spotlight on the event that is staged in Pordenone every year, but also allows us to create or strengthen relationships with companies, but also with associations, organisations, institutes and realities that can then be at the centre of a series of initiatives that lead to the presence of delegations at the fair, thanks to which exhibitors can create new opportunities.

Activities that are carried out by SICAM in absolute autonomy and that last year saw China, India and Ukraine as ‘Focus Countries’, from which a greater number of visitors are therefore expected. An edition, the one inaugurated today, that sees an important presence of operators from the United States, thanks to the partnership defined with the National Kitchen and Bathroom Association, which during the days of the fair will present the ‘Global Connect’ programme to create new relationships with potential suppliers who can collaborate with American manufacturers who in recent years are paying more and more attention to European standards and production methods.
