SICAM 2024 proves and reaffirms its excellence

Just weeks after SICAM 2024 came to a close, exhibitor reconfirmations and fresh requests to participate in next year’s event, set for 14-17 October 2025, are flooding in. This enthusiastic early response underscores SICAM’s standing as a premier event on the international trade fair calendar, affirming the quality and success of its recent 15th edition.

The 2024 event welcomed 692 exhibitors from 34 countries, occupying over 41,000 square metres of space, with a net exhibition area of 19,135 square metres. During the four-day gathering in Pordenone, 9,243 companies from 118 nations arrived to engage with industry leaders, resulting in a total of nearly 30,000 attendees. Of these, 23,542 were registered visitors, with an additional 5,368 representing exhibiting companies.

Visitors

A closer look at the visitor statistics reveals some compelling insights. Starting with origins: 62 per cent of visitors hailed from Italy, while 38 per cent came from abroad. Among international visitors, Europe led with 69 per cent, followed by Asia (20 per cent), the Americas (6 per cent), Africa (4 per cent), and Oceania (1 per cent). Excluding Italy, the top nations represented were Germany, China, Spain, Poland, Croatia, Slovenia, France, Romania, Greece, Serbia, and the United Kingdom, in that order.

The data gathered on the “quality” of visitors is equally notable: the largest group consisted of “owners/CEOs,” followed closely by technical employees, commercial staff, sales managers, and general managers. These figures reinforce SICAM’s reputation as an event where key business strategy decisions are made.

In terms of product sectors, “furniture” took the top spot, followed by “components,” “kitchens,” “contract,” and “bathroom.” The Italian and international manufacturing industries led visitor segmentation by type of business, followed by trade—a highly international segment—artisan manufacturers, an area of distinction in Italian production, as well as services, representative agencies, and publishing.

As for attendees within Italy, the highest numbers came from Veneto, followed by Friuli-Venezia Giulia, Lombardy, Marche, and Emilia Romagna—regions where the furniture and furnishings industry holds a strong presence.

Event Highlights

Time spent at SICAM also proved valuable; the fair once again highlighted its primary strength as a “compact” and easily navigable event, structured for productive and targeted business engagement. This structure allows visitors to efficiently access and explore a vast array of products and innovations while enjoying the opportunity to savour local flavours and delve into the rich cultural, natural, and architectural heritage of the region.

Looking Ahead

With SICAM 2024 successfully concluded, preparations are already underway for the 2025 edition scheduled for next October. The themes and promotional goals for the coming year have been set, with a focus on consolidating existing connections and creating new partnerships with national and international companies, organisations, and associations anticipated in Pordenone next year.

This extensive promotional campaign will cover all key global markets, aimed at generating heightened interest in Italy’s leading trade fair for the sector, which is also recognised as one of the most influential worldwide. This approach promises to benefit all involved—both exhibitors and visitors. SICAM is known as an intensely “focused” fair, with visitors spending an average of 1.33 days at the event to fully explore its offerings, including an average of 1.19 days for Italian visitors and 1.63 days for international ones, reflecting the broad range of opportunities that make SICAM a must-attend event.

A Welcoming Environment

Once again, the international furniture and furnishings industry has shown its trust in Exposicam’s event. SICAM is well-regarded not only for the calibre of its exhibitors and visitors or the wide selection of new ideas, products, and innovations on display but also for its high-quality and welcoming atmosphere. This relaxed, professional environment allows attendees to focus on their business objectives in a pleasant, effective manner.

This year, SICAM further enhanced its hospitable environment with a completely updated stand layout and an increased stand height of 2.5 metres, boosting comfort for all attendees. These upgrades retained the event’s popular showroom ambience, providing an ideal setting for exhibitors to prominently showcase their products—a feature that continues to draw industry professionals to SICAM year after year.
