Setra is happy to welcome Uppsala Country Administrative Board and Governor Stefan Attefall for an insightful visit to Heby sawmill. The production of Setra has been running here for over 100 years and now they manufacture here among other things, raw materials for CLT here in heby.
“In the forestry and timber industry, we contribute with renewable and environmentally smart products that are essential for the green transition. It’s very valuable to showcase our operations and production chain, starting from the forest. We also had a good dialogue about the challenges and opportunities ahead,” says Marcus Westdahl, CEO of Setra.
The visit also included a tour in the forest with Mellanskog, one of Setra’s owners.
“It was enlightening and interesting to gain deeper insights into the conditions for small-scale forest owners and nature conservation at Mellanskog, and the timber industry at Setra. In my view, there are always improvements to be made in the dialogue and collaboration between authorities and businesses,” adds Stefan Attefall.
Setra is one of Sweden’s largest wood industry companies. In their facilities, they refine forest raw materials into climate-friendly, highly refined products such as glulam, planed wood, components and Cross laminated timer/CLT for construction and housing on a global market. They also sell bioproducts such as bark, chips and shavings to the paper and pulp industry as well as for energy production.
