Setra, a wood industry company, intended to design a workspace that reflected their business as they relocated to new facilities in Solna, emphasising sustainability and wood. With interior design by EFG that blends classic style and adaptability with a distinct environmental focus, the result is a contemporary and comfortable office.
Nature serves as an inspiration for modern, minimalist design
An open office layout, separate meeting and conference spaces of different sizes, and a shared kitchen and lounge area are all features of Setra’s new office. The enormous windows that let in an amazing amount of light are framed with curtains made of light, sheer materials. A sizable patio overlooking the entirety of Solna is also part of the property.
“The open landscape means a new way of working for many of the employees. Therefore, it was extra important to create a calm and pleasant environment with room for both focus and collaboration,” notes Evelina Höglund, project manager at Input Interiör, who was responsible for the loose interior design in the project.
“Setra wanted the interior to reflect their business and wanted a lot of wood and warm natural colors in the interior. EFG’s many options in terms of materials and finishes made it easy to create an office that met their wishes, “Evelina Höglund, project manager, Input Interior.
Continuous sense from the office space’s entrance
For all settings, fashionable and adaptable EFG goods were selected to produce a unified and coherent vibe. A classic eye-catcher that instantly sets the mood, the Evo lounge chair in light ash and beige 3D knit fabric has been used to embellish the entry. The office areas are furnished with the Savo Soul Mesh task chair, the Tab acoustic desk screens, and the Rise height-adjustable desk with a light ash top.

Meeting and break spaces
The Archie chair has been selected for the meeting and conference rooms due to its exceptional comfort and adaptability. With its armrests, wheels, and recycled wool upholstery, it offers a comfortable seating experience for a variety of users. The Collaborate table, which is easily adjustable to the room’s size, has been matched with Archie. The multipurpose table features built-in power outlets for a seamless overall solution and a light ash top in various sizes. Light ash cabinets that are fixed on the wall serve as storage in the conference rooms. The spacious Mingle Lounge, which offers a more comfortable experience, has been placed in the restroom, while the Mingle Standard sofa, which is appropriate for standing, has been placed in the lounge and break area to create a pleasant atmosphere. Gray wool has been used for the upholstery in both versions to create a cosy and organic look. Both the dining and leisure spaces include the sophisticated oak Zoe chair with a cognac leather seat. The chair’s slender dimensions convey a sober appearance, and the solid wood adds character and stability. “Zoe is an elegant and durable wooden chair that naturally fits into the room. It is stackable and easy to move, making it perfect for dynamic environments,” says Evelina.
Long-term sustainability and reuse
Utilising pre-existing furniture was a key component of the project. Following a thorough inventory, certain items could be moved from the old location to the new office, while others were shipped to Setra’s sawmill to be utilised in the staff facilities. Additionally, furniture from Input Interiör’s channels was recycled. “Setra has a clear sustainability focus that permeates the entire company. To reduce transport, we worked with as few suppliers as possible, with Swedish producers with strict environmental requirements and certifications being prioritized. It was also obvious to choose products that last over time, both aesthetically and environmentally. EFG has a wide range of sustainable products that are easy to update and renovate when necessary, which makes them a natural choice for Setra’s offices,” says Evelina.
