 Tuesday, March 20, 2018

SCM_eye-MWith a double-digit growth rate over the past two years, in terms of corporate overall as well as in the woodworking machinery market alone, SCM, the world leading producer of secondary woodworking machinery, participates in the 19th edition of Holz-Handwerk (Nuremberg, 21-24 March 2018), where it presents to the international market its huge collection of hi-tech applications and services, unique in the industry, which have traditionally made SCM not just a supplier but also a partner to its customers.

Work digital” is the concept underlying all SCM communication at the exhibition, the leitmotif of all the technological and digital novelties. Among these innovations, Maestro Smartech stands out as the revolutionary remote assistance and maintenance system which employs augmented reality glasses: for users, it’s just like having an SCM technician always at their side as they experiment with wearable technology. The spotlight is also on: eye-M, the next-generation multifunction and multi-touch operator panel, with a 21.5″ screen, which introduces the mobile-device feel and approach to the industrial production environment; Maestro Xplore, a simulation system for integrated cells and systems based on the use of the Oculus 3D virtual reality viewer, ensuring an immersive sensory experience of SCM solutions designed for integrated production; and the highly innovative “IoT” (Internet of Things) tools, enabling machine data capturing for later processing. These systems are in line with the “smart factory” concept and are able to monitor and optimise processes more and more efficiently the ultimate goal being predictive maintenance, which anticipates any unscheduled maintenance requirements.

In the Digital Hub set up for Holz-Handwerk, visitors can also try out the wide range of dedicated software options tailored to each SCM solution and controlled by the Maestro Suite system.
